2500 FLASH IOS QUESTION

I have a 2501 router with 8mb of flash and 8mb of DRAM. I have an IOS image file that is about 9mb. If I boot from a TFTP server, will that be able to bypass the memory shortage I have here?

I think not, even if you pull down the IOS from a TFTP server, it has to load into memory.

You can only upgrade your flash.

Have you tried to compress your image. Packetattack has a compress program at thier site.

Thanks, I did order another 8mb of flash. Hope its compatible with my router.
