I have just started to implement 2420's on my g3si v11.
Can some one tell me how to program the Messages button on the set?
We do not have Intuity, rather DigitalSpeech If that makes any difference).
Thanks in advance,
-Randy

At the bottom of the 3rd page (lower left-hand corner) is where you add the Voice Mail dial-up number (CM 03.2.536.1).

Kevin

Is that only on CM?
I have nothing on the 3rd page lower left other than a "t"???

How about page 4 in the lower corner below the button assignments.

When is the last time you helped someone, just because you were able to?

The only thing I have there is the time and date.
Maybe this is a malfunctioning 2420. I will check out another one.

What is the software load that you are runing. I know that in CM 1.3 the field is there. Do 'newterm' and past the results here.

Kevin

when you are programming the phone (site administration), you add the voicemail pilot on page 4. It is on the bottom of the page where the the main call appearences are. It sounds like you are looking at the phone.

I do not have CM I have G3si v11.
And it appears there is the problem.
I was looking at page 4 on the phone but in the emulator page 4 doesn't have any thing about the Messages or voice mail.
Just a list of 24 buttons to assign to feature button assignments.
Thanks for all your help anyway.

We have G3si V12 and ours is on page 3 under the button assignment.

Our v11 doesn't have it.

That's odd. I have a G3siV11, and the 'voice-mail Number' field appears exactly as shown in Mikeydidit's screen cap. Do you have the station Type set to "2420" ?
This field won't appear if the "Type" field on page 1 is defined as an older phone type...

That is odd, I looked to see what vintage of card I have in those slots and I have a pretty good mix TN2224, TN 2224B and TN 2224CP. So I'm guessing that's not the issue. I usually use GEDI, but I also checked in the emulator and it was no help either.
Thanks guys,
-Randy

Hi Randy,

I'm not talking about the card vintage, I'm referring to the phone station's "Type" field... as indicated below and bracketted by little arrows.

Oh yow, I forgot to mention all are data-filled correctly with 2420.
Thanks,

Earlier releases of V11 did not support the 2420 set. Please type 'newterm' and paste the results here.

System: G3siV11 Software Version: R011i.02.0.110.4
Terminal Type (513, 715, 4410, 4425, VT220): [513]
Is this what you're looking for?

I verified it on some of my systems: V11.2 does not have the Message Number field, V11.3 does have the field. I don't think you will find any direct support from Avaya to get the latest release of V11. You could try calling in a maintenance ticket.
