2420 labels- edit default, restore, default

replaceing a 8410d with a 2420. Do you have to change the station type before it will allow you to edit/restore label defaults. I have tried to restore/clear all labels in phone just after plugging into 8410 assigned port. Labels will not clear. Or do I have a bad phone. Thanks

Where does the 2420 come from ?

The 2420 remembers its labels until the buttons on the phone are reconfigured in CM with different labels. If you clear the buttons they go back to a letter representing that button.

got it. the key is you have to change the station port type to 24xx before you can edit, erase or restore default labels. THANKS
