I am a 3rd party vendor that is working with a NEC tech. We are trying to accomplish a T1 CAS line side integration. He is using a PA-PRTC(1.5M DLI). Set up for ESF B8ZS. We are still getting a layer 2 alarm.

He is noticing the MFRM alarm even though setup for ESF. Also gets the FRM.

Any help would be greatly appriciated. Thanks.

Are you able to clear the alarms by placing a hard loopback to the NEC?

We have tried that on the NEC and our equipment. Everything is good there.

Originally there was a L1 issue. For some reason that was cleared when they went to ESF instead of Superframe. We are now stuck with the L2. NEC wont talk to us b/c we are not the vendor. Trying to push the customer to contact NEC.

We have done plenty of these type of configurations with Meridians, MD110s, Siemens, and so forth. NEC does not want to share any information. I have a couple T1 CAS integrations with NECs but like I said no one wants to talk.

Do you have the ISDN Protocols matching on the NEC and your equipment? My guess is you are using NI2.

Can you tell me the difference between the PA-PRTC 1.5M DLI & a PA-24DTR? I was just finally able to get ahold of a site using a NEC ICS 2400 with the PA-24DTR tied to our equipment. Which is a line side T1 CAS. Is this really the correct card? What is the difference with the ICS & IPX?

Just out of curiosty, what are you connecting to? A Dialogic Gateway?

You have PRTC DLI? I think you have the wrong card. DLI designates a station side T-1. You would use this card to set up T-1 lines to a voicemail system or other equipment. You need a PRTC DTI for trunks. The only difference on the cards is the chips.

Connection will be to a DECT in-building wireless phone system using a line side T1 CAS integration method.

They will eventually have stations programmed. As of right now they have not. We are not sure at the moment they have the right card. We believe that is part of the reason for the layer 2 alarms.

We have a like site that is running the PA 24DTR card. That one has been up & running now for several months.

We have been fighting for them to get NEC's TAC involved for over a week now.

This PRTC card is a new fairly new card. I am wondering if maybe it is a replacement for the 24DTR(DLI) as NEC docs are showing discontinued in their general description. The only way to get NEC NTAC involved is with a certified tech or a vendor that will be willing to use "tokens" with NEC. If need be I would try changing to the 24DTR card. There should be no compatibility issues.

I have purchased what I think is the correct card but now there are some questions on how to tell the the flavor. Cn anyone tell me the physical features of a24DTR(DLI)? I need to make sure it is for a Line side connection.

It is marked as follows:

SPA-24DTR
