I have a customer who has an NEC 2400 IMS. We are trying to interface an ASCOM Mobility Server with it. We support T-1 or E-1 interface using either QSIG, ATT#5ESS Network and/or ATT#5ESS User side. They have a 24DTR card to use (which I assume is a T-1 Interface).

My questions is: What protocols will the 2400 IMS support, and what do they have to do to make this work? I am not an NEC person, I work with Nortel and Ericsson. The customer isn't sure, and we can't get much help from their vendor right now.

Thanks!

The protocols mentioned refer to ISDN or CCIS/Qsig functions. The 24DTR is only a T-1 card and has no D or C channel communications capabilities.

Your only options is D4 AMI or ESF B8ZS.

If you want QSig or 5ESS emulation you need a 24PRT card.
Hope this helps.

Can you tell me how to hook up external paging on a Nortel BCM? Thanks.

Thanks for the info! I have relayed this to the customer, and they are tracking down a curcuit board for the integration.

Unfortunatly, I can't tell you how to set up paging on the NorTel. My focus in only on integrating the PBXs with our Mobility Server, and we only use what we have to in our test plant...basic features and functions to get calls routed to our system. Have you looked into the Meridian forum regarding this?
Thanks again for your help!
