Hello,

Im moving 3 consoles tonight...thats all our Attendant console's

the cables are being pulled back and relocating
about 100 ft...

Anything i need to do? other than just plugging them back in.

do I need to disable any of the tns or will they just disable on there own over night.

Thanks again.

There are at least 2 TNs per console + optionnally upto 3 PWR TNs. The PWR TNs are always disabled. The 2250 port TN can be disable before unplugged and enable after connection will be made.

would you happen to know if they have to be disabled.

He means, disable the TNs before unplugging, moving, and connecting. Then ENLC the whole card (fastest) it will take about 2 minutes for the 2250 to look normal - keep the handsets and headsets unplugged for about 3 minutes after you recconect the console to the cables. (to insure the console is in "BUSY")

Remember, console appears dead when no head/handset is inserted

Then plugem in and away you go

Question

but your telling me to enable a whole card...

im no guru...but maybe there is a typo here???????????????

thanks

would you happen to know if they have to be disabled?

You can enable a whole card at once instead of doing each 1 , it's faster and won't hurt anything.

The thing is there on 3 different cards

and shared with other users who are on those cards...

I do not have permission to take down those users.

Disable ONLY the TNs for the Console, but ENLC to bring them back up fastest.

Or, disaable only what you need and enable only what you need. Whatever feels comfortable is going to work. No need to experiment

wouldnt enlu be better since it only 2 tns?
and not the whole card..?

I have disabled the the tns only for each console.

thanks

Better". not better or worse.

"slower" - Yes, but not relevant in a small number of TNs.

Let's say you have 10 TNs disabled on 3 cards in one shelf. Your goal is to restore service as fast as possible.

Just type ENLS L S (Loop Shelf numbers) and all 10 will be enabled. That is the point behind the whole card thing.

Users do not know or detect if you enabled them while they are already enabled. It's like turning on a light switch that is already on.

you only type one line.
