Hi,
I have a SQL 7 database on SQL server (W2K Adv. server, SP1) and a SONY SDT-9000 DDS Tape Drive in the backup server(NT4, SP6)--different server. I use ARCserve IT Version 6.6 as backup software.
When I backup SQL data via Intranet, the backup engine can never open any file with extention 'mdf'and 'ldf' in the folder of \\SQLSERVER\mssql7\data\ except 'msdbdata.mdf' and 'msdblog.ldf'. But if I stop the SQL server service during backup, the engine can open and backup all files.
So, how can I backup SQL 7 database when SQL service is running?
Thanks,
Yujie
