Does ne1 know how to repair the 206 modules w/ static

I understand there is a chip to replace
thanks

its best to get'em refurbed with a warranty....check out metroline or atlantel....

trying a "do-it-yourself" method.

Ne1 with experience repairing the module?
thx

ive seen it done there are capactiors for each station and you need to repalce these .

Skip555 is correct. Over time the larger capacitors at each extension leak and cause corrosion on the board. You must replace the caps and clean ALL of the corrosion off of the board.

Has any one repaired the power supplies themselves?

I thought there was a thread in this forum once about somebody repairing the power supply and they mentioned a better MOS-FET transistor and a Zener diode but I can't find it or it was removed.

Hi DJ,
I have repaired the power supplies with a better FET. It has lower on resistance and so runs a little cooler. I think I used an IRF640. 200V 18A 0.18 ohm. I'd have to open a 206 up to make sure though, it's been a little while.
The zener / resistor change was on an ACS 3.0 power supply. I don't know if what I did was correct, but the unit is still running fine. Andrew (drewmich) would be very welcome to comment right about now.
