206E mods in a Partner II 4.1

i hear a lot of static on the CO ports on my partner system.

Is it possible that it is the acutal telephone set or is it that my 206e mods are going bad and this is a sympton.

what's the solution? repair? or replace?

Hi jsaad,
Do all your extensions get the noise on the same CO? Can you call between extensions clearly without static? You didn't mention this and it would help to troubleshoot your problem.
It is common to find that port 1 on a 206 card noisy as ext 10 goes there. The card may get swapped out to a different position so the next card, port 1 gets used. It may be that ext 10 gets the most use and normally has a larger phone on it.
If you feel your lines are noisy, plug a single line (regular) telephone directly on the line at the demarc with nothing else connected. If you still have your noise, then it's your line.
