I have searched through numerous posts prior to posting so if this is a repeat I appologize.

I have set up my license server on an xp machine. I have the ip set and the host id set: 10.1.1.237 fqdn/host id -altrulicenseserver1.altru.net
It is set up on dns.
Installed the license software and the services are running and the license file is installed and states 4 available 0 used.
I did have a v3 client running prior to the expiration. I went into the license server setting on the client 2050 and inserted 10.1.1.237.
Cannot find license server.
I can ping both ip and fqdn/host id.
I have read the most current ip fundamentals and there is no great detail in this proceedure. It seems like it should be pretty straight forward.
What am I missing. Ideas?

I don't think latency is a problem _ not sure how to check. I only have one profile - 81C.

I have a pile that are running fine on the 264 software. Is there anything in element manager? Reaching. Is there a way to check on the server side a log or something that may say there has been an attempt to connect?

Its a straw grasping suggestion, but have you checked the firewall settings on the XP machine that is acting as the server ?

I just tuned in to post what I found out.
The last post was correct. I was so positive that I didn't have windows firewall turned on that I didn't check. I finally did and what do you know it was on. Don't know how or why. Anyway turned it off and what do you know. Guess I got to know the new ver of ip fundamentals and macrovision docs.
I'll give you a star for getting the answer right.
