2050 Softphone

i have an end user complaining about her softphone. she can make and receive calls, however when she receives calls, she doesn't hear the phone ring. it only flashes.

she has a softphone installed on her laptop and connects to our network via DSL. i checked her settings on the Switch and tried to walk her through looking at things on her end, but our software releases are incompatible.

can ayone give me some advice as to what to look at to troubleshoot this? thanks.

 
This is kind of a longshot, but check this. Under the i2050 configuration tool, make sure the ringing speaker is her PC speaker/audio card and not the headset. Otherwise it rings through the headset and you won't hear it when it's sitting on the desk.

Select Sound Device
Slect a Speaker device for ringing and Paging
Select (The PC Sound Card)
 
We had that issue here as well, most of the times it was solved on another PC, so related to their local profile.

If you have roaming profiles you might want to delete their profile.

You might want to try with another local profile before deleting this one :)
