Registration is now open for the 2009 InAAU Conference. This year it is being held at the Gaylord Resort in Kissimmee, Florida - about 1.5 miles from Disney. Anyone else planning on going?

Yeah I'd like to go as well but no dice. Management just won't spend the money.

Susan,

It seems as though it is only you and I that seem to be attending so far. I could try to make it to the welcome reception, but in the past I haven't gone. I bring my wife with me on these conferences, and we usually go to dinner on Sunday evening, since I miss dinner with her on Monday night (The Avaya Event) and Tuesday night (the Vendor dinner night). I also am not staying at the host hotel. When I started to make reservations, the price was just too high. I did find that you can make less expensive accommodations at the hotel by looking online, but I am now in a hotel about 3 miles away. I was able to get twice the room for less than half the price.

I really wish I knew that more Tek-Tips users were attending the conference. I know that due to the economy, that many companies are refusing to let their staff go to training. I guess we are fortunate to be able to go.

If you have any other ideas, let me know...

3 of us from my company went last year. This year they won't even pay for travel with-in our own state :(

Just a quick note on the conference...this is the last week to get in on the "extended" early registration for the conference. It is just $1200 until May 1st.

I found that the accommodations at the resort where the conference is held, are very expensive and I was able to find a hotel about 2 miles away for $60+ a night cheaper. If you look harder, you can find some 5 miles away for even less money.

If you haven't heard from other people on the forum, it is dollar for dollar the best training for the money. I can pay for over half the trip in just the Avaya certifications that you can take while you are there.

So for anyone who is watching or cares, keep this in mind. Those that are going, I hope to see you there...

I am a bit of a lurker on this board and don't post too often. I will be attending this year, this will be my first time.

That's terrific! You will really enjoy it. If anyone would like to have a Tek-Tips gathering at the conference, just drop me an email via faq690-7157.
