I have a number of spreadsheets that are linked to a series of data sheets. Every so often for no reason these sheets lose the links, although the sheets do not move, just get updated with data.

Despite clicking on 'Don't display the error and update links' on the edit links box, and also haviong 'Update links' ticked within options, this still happens.

Can anyone think of a way to get this to stay as set, or suggest alittle VBA code that will update the links everytime the sheet is opened.

The annoyance is that i have a VBA code that ruins and updates the sheets with new data when it is available, but this errors and stops when this error comes up.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
Check to see that all the spreadsheets have been converted to Office 2007. You can tell by opening the doc and looking on the Office Button. If "Convert..." command is visible, then it is being viewed in a compatibility mode. Try converting all files and see if the links hold.

I know i said this held, but it doesn't seem to, i still get spasmodioc link errors, anyone have a piece of code that i can run when the workbook is first open to check the links and update them.

The files it links to are static, so it isn't as if they move.
