Anyone ahve any troubles getting voicemail lite to run on window 2003 server? Program runs but never gets list/updates from ipo (403v3.2). Any help would be much appreciated...again.

Do you mean the screen stays empty ?
Click on the "run" button to see some action.

Sorry, should have mentioned this...This used to be on an XP box, consolidated to 2003 server box. Clicked run and nothing, Changed ip address in ipo to new server and waited to see it sync and nothing. Rebooted everything and nada.

What software version of ipo do you use ?
Did you pull the plug or did you do a reboot from manager ?

ipo is 3.2.65. i tried both, checked security/firewall and virus software..completely stumped.

Try to change the ipaddress to the old ipaddress of the XP machine.
You also can try to change the ipo to no voicemail, reboot and then change it back and reboot.

checked firewall, server security settings, anti virus. All are ok, for giggles I shut them all of and same result.

Is the XP machine still on the same network ?
If it is then remove it and repeat the reboots!

Nope, its shut down for now. I'm looking into running vmware to run voicemail on the server, but I have time to see if theres a way to have it work on the server.

* Have you got Data Execution Prevention turned on? it would normally through up a message telling you the application has been closed but its handy to make sure VMLite.exe is in there as an allowed program.

* Completely disable the ICS / Firewall service.

* Toggle your IP address in the IPO for the VM service from specific to broadcast. e.g 192.168.x.x to 255.255.255.255 merge and save back. If its already set to a broadcast address, then set it to a specific address.

Is this a R2 server?

I'd bet you need to run the security wizard and tweak some settings in there.

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

I had already tried changing back to the broadcast address with no luck, have checked dep and its not on, and the security wizard only comes into play if the ics /firewall is enabled, which I have disabled foe the time being to try and get it to connect. Some more info. This is a new installed 2003 server with all updates on it. I have tried removing the .net3.5 and 3.0 updates and reinstalled the .net from the ipo cd. Had an issue in a definity system where .net 3.5 messed up agents and nice, but this didn't help here. I have checked as many tech docs from avaya and can't find anything similar to this issue. I really appreeciate everybodys responses, it's nice to be able to throw troubles across fresh minds! god knows my mind is beat!

One more tid bit, this server is running AD,DNS,DHCP and Web services. Is some of these using same ports as VM lite?

Do a netstat-b on the server and see what ports they use :)

You need to look for port 50791

Also if you have VM lite running at the time that will display the port then just check for clashes :)

Have vm lite running and its not on there. The ports not listed. Is there any way to see if ipo is looking for it?
