2002 Visio docs not displaying properly in 2003

My company recently upgraded me from Visio 2002 Standard to Visio 2003 Standard. Now when I open my old Visio 2002 documents in the 2003 version, objects have moved within the diagrams. Why can't 2003 Visio read 2002 Visio documents correctly? More importantly, is there any easier way to fix this other than redoing the diagrams?

I have three versions of Visio & I have found that 2000/2002 will open up files written with either version but files written in 2003 can not be opened by 2000 or 2002, the backward compatability is not functional.
I don't know of any way around this? it would help me if I could find a way, I have empathy with your situation sorry I can not help

Visio 2000 and Visio 2002 use the same file format. With Visio 2003 the file format changed. There have been problems with the SaveAs feature which should be fixed with the latest patches. Check the MS website for updates and a description of the changes.
