Have a 2000IVS where SLTs do not ring when called. Previously were no SLTs on the system, but we added a 4LCD. Get dialtone on SLTs and if I answer the phone when it is called the talkpath is there, but the phone/buttset/modem/etc never rings. Did I miss something?

OzzieGeorge, Ok. If it is the CP03 then it is built in on len 0124. If it is the CP00 it is probably and 8rst card. I am just writing from experience that when I had similar symptoms on one of my switches it was corrected once the registers were programmed.

The registers have nothing to do with ringing to a single line station.
Your problem is most likely too much ringing at one time to single line sets. There is a max of 16 single line sets (I think) that can ring at one time per FP. With the 1400 system there was a ring guard CM that would limit the number of stations ringing to about 6 or so. When this was exceeded the ringing was stopped to all single lines under the FP until it was reset. You can turn off this with CM 08>309>0.
Also could you possibily have the 1000IVS?
It came with a PW101 that did not supply ring voltage for single line sets. You had to change it out to the PW86 to get ringing or connect a ring generator to the back plane.
If you have a PW86 make sure the the PWR 0B connector is connected to the back plane of the PIM. If it is you can remove it and check for AC voltage from the black to white lead. I forget what it will read but it's about 50 or 60 volts I think.
Or the ring relays on the single line card are bad.

As others have stated the ringing has nothing to do with the register card. I don't have the data to hand to check the built in details as my book doesn't mention a built in register for this system so I would have to check processor types.
When I said take the card back I meant the LCD card sorry if that caused confusion.

Ringing voltage definately comes from the power supply (had to replace 5 power supplies out of 6 when a system took a lightning hit a while back).

If you don't have a PW86 available, you can get an external ringer unit. Tel Labs 8102 is a model I know that works for sure. contact Marshal Industries in El Monte, CA (800-833-9910).
In short, you take the 105 AC Volts ringer output from the Tel Labs unit and attach it to the PWROB connector on the PIM's back plane. Thus, constant ring voltage is "sitting" on the back plane.

A PW86 is cheaper than the Tel Labs external unit. The PW86 also comes with the correct connectors. It also goes in the PIM thus saving space.
There are plenty of NEAX 2000 part suppliers on the web. Even if you have to you can buy a whole IVS PIM and just take out the PW86. It would probably still be less expensive than the Tel Labs.
