2000 Workstation Freezing on Server Contact

I have a 75+ workstation network with 3 W2K servers. Of the 75, they are a mixed batch of 95, 98 and 2000 Pro all being upgraded to 2000.

My problem lies in a new machine that freezes when accessing a network share. It runs fine with Outlook as a front-end to my Exchange 2000 server, but if the user tries to do anything involving files on a network share on my DC it freezes up whatever application is attempting to use the file (Word opening a .doc and so on)

Any ideas on what could trigger this issue? It's the only one doing this and t's my boss' secretary to top it all off!!! Please help!

Does it happen to another machine plugged into the same jack/port?

The old pc worked fine with that same cat5 cable on the same jack. My laptop and also my tester work fine on the jack. That was my initial guess, but no such luck.

Also, it is only accessing data files since Exchange Server contact and network printing all work fine.
