2000 IPS BATTERIES

We removed the batteries from all our 2000ips switches,are they necessary except for backup. Do they help regulate the power supply and help on lightning and voltage strikes.

No, the internal batteries are for back up in cast of lost AC power. Usually good for 30 minutes depending on usage.
