I am migrating an EL to a 200ICP MX, and I am wondering about my DSP resources. I am not using any IP devices, but will have about 400 devices and 400 mailboxes for this resort. Current config for DSP is default as business 1, and only the default DSP, which is 1 dual DSP. Am I going to have to install another dual or quad DSP? Thanks

From the Manual: (a good resource by the way)

Based on the Engineering Guidelines, Business option 1 will not support 400 devices no matter how many DSP's you throw at it.

Business Option 1 (IP)

Base Dual DSP (2 DSPs total)
-3 three-party conf.
-4 voice mail ports
-8 G.729 channels
-48 IP phones
-6 ONS/DNIC ports
-12 LS/Class trunks

2 Dual DSP or 1 Quad DSP (4 DSPs total)
-8 three-party conf.
-12 voice mail ports
-18 G.729 channels1
-96 IP phones
-6 ONS/DNIC ports
-12 LS/Class trunks
-24 T1 or 23 PRI ccts.

1 Dual + 1 Quad DSP(6 DSPs total)
-12 three-party conf.
-18 voice mail ports
-16 G.729 channels
-96 IP phones
-96 ONS/DNIC ports
-12 LS/Class trunks
-48 T1 or 46 PRI ccts.

2 Quad DSPs(8 DSPs total)
-12 three-party conf.
-24 voice mail ports
-24 G.729 channels
-192 IP phones
-192 ONS/DNIC ports
-12 LS/Class trunks
-96 T1 or 92 PRI ccts.

To support 400 devices the only options I see are:

Analog Option 2 with 6 or more dsp's (480 ONS/DNIC)
or
Analog option 3 with Quad DSP (576 ONS/DNIC)

KWBMitel, I have the book, but when we went to the Mitel "salesforce" site to engineer this, it never recommended more DSP's which I thought was really unusual!! When I looked into the the tech book, thats when I saw the trouble. I have already migrated my database via Kermit, will it hurt if I change my option now from business 1 to one of the analog options. I will definately get a quad dsp!! Thanks for your help!!

I don't honestly know much about the options. They are in the range where they might require an options password to activate.

Sorry, but that's all I have.
