I have 2 systems both with Voicemail pro, advanced small community networking, and VPNM.. I was told by an Avaya Tech there is a way to stop the systems from populating the users voicemail boxes on both voicemail pro servers by blocking ports on the routers/firewalls.. Has anyone gotten this to work without causing voicemail conflicts? Does anyone know how to do this?

I know i am going to get the unsupported stuff about this but i have a 10 site SCN all with there own VMPRO and we have never had an issue. I have been told by Avaya that even tho they wont support it that it will be ok. as long as each site has the VM pointed to the IP of the local server. I also have a 3 site set up with VMPRO and VPNM and SCN turned on and have never had issues.

I support fully what Kevin said but if you have problems with it then just take the SCN off and do shortcodes in both system then you won't have that problem any more.

What would you do if someone at SiteA wants to directly transfer to SiteB's voicemail? Can you do that? Using the typical #Extn shortcode won't take them to the right place.

I tested that it does not work, however i ahve not created the same short code with the IP Lines group ID...

For the sites i have set up this way we have not needed that. it really is just internal calls from site to site.

I did try this with line group set to the IP line outgoing group, it does not work either. I'm wondering if its possible at all.

They are adding support for VM Pro at all the sites in an SCN in 5.X.X Shortel found out Avaya had this limitation and acted on it, so Avaya is planing on adding support for it as they have no choice now..

Currently have 14 sites on SCN, all with VMPro, no issues to speak of.

About to break a few SCN rules here soon. Too many users, too many sites and all with VMPro.

No complaints from me though.. Works like a charm.
