OK, I posted this on the Cisco Switch board but then thought it may be a PIX issue too...

I have 2 Windows servers - a web server and a mail server - on the same subnet. The web server has a form that uses a perl script to send a mail message to our mail server. The problem is that from time to time the network connection between the two is lost. I cannot ping between the two but I can ping other boxes. Incoming and outgoing mail still function fine and the website is still up and running.

These are both in a DMZ from a PIX firewall. Any help would be grateful!

Thanks!

I don't think it's a PIX issue... since the traffic is within the same subnet, the PIX is not involved. Try to look at the switches arp table when the issue reappears and try to also sniff the traffic to determine where the problem lies.
