I have Merlin with 2 Pri set up & working, but the only problem
is that we get a customer complaint that they get a busy at times when we have a heavy call volume, checked with SBC & they say it's our problem that it does not roll over to our second PRI
DMS100
NTPRI
L 1 flag set to yes
dial plan routing
as stated what can be causing the call not to rollover to the second Pri, when it is busy people can still call out though the second PRI, why not call in ?

The incoming routing is going to be on them, the Merlin is just the receiver of the call. Just as an experiment, after work, try to unplug the primary PRI, than call the main number and see if it truly comes over the 2nd PRI. That is one way you can force a busy condition and test the incoming routing. Good luck

You need to get or verify some basic info from SBC about the PRI configs in the DMS100. The B Channels and the D Channels are in separate Trunk Groups in the DMS100 similar to analogue DID trunks (or any trunks in a CO switch). Now for calls to land all B Channels they need to be in the same Trunk Group or additional Routing between the PRIs in the DMS100 (alternate routing). SBC translations people should have setup both PRIs in the same Trunk Groups, ie: Trunk Group Number and/or Route Index.

Do you receive any calls on the second PRI currently? If you do, are any of those numbers the same numbers that land the first PRI? If your answer is NO, you have two separate Trunk Groups of numbers and trunks. Definitely an SBC translations problem.

I would open a trouble ticket and have it escalated, and you may have to place service orders with the Business Office to make these changes take place. Whoever ordered this service from the getgo did not know what to order or the SBC reps screwed up the order.

This condition should have been discovered during testing and turn up!

Hope this helps!
