I have two hard drives on my system{win 98sec,pent4-1.5,500m-ram} I want to clone my current operating system [win98] to the 15gig. partion as a back up. [I crash a lot while I am learning the deep downs ].And i also want to put WIn 95 on my second hard drive. Can this all be done ? and the best and cheapist way to do it all . Thanke for any info/help .

You need to get hold of a copy of Nortons Ghost or powerquests Drive Image Pro. Your best bet is to look at online software suppliers as they will normally do the best deals.

Without PartitionMagic or PartitionIt or similar program, Windows 95, Windows 98, and Windows ME will not do a dual-boot. These 3 each HAVE to be on the boot drive, which is C:. Win9x/ME and Win2000/XP dual-boot fine but the newest OS goes on last and best on other partition/drive from Win9x/ME.

I need to set a daily task of backing up all the files on my F drive to the E drive and I am new to task scheduler scripts any answers?

rpidcock: I would suggest creating a batch file and have the task schedular run it at your desired interval.

The process would go like:

1. Create folder named (something insignificant) to E:2. Copy F:\ to E:\(that thing ^^^^)
3. Rename the folder to some name on an interval (I'm not sure exactly how you would do that since I am not that familiar with dos commands. Perhaps the system's date assuming you don't want to overwrite the save every time. If you dont mind overwriting then just copy the files over)

Script 1: (Use this if you want to overwrite the files every time)

XCOPY F: E:\DriveF /y

Script 2: I couldnt figure out how to prevent it from overwriting by creating new folders every time. I assume there must be a way to verify if a folder exists, and if it does increment the naming variable by 1 and check if that folder exists, and so on... if it eventually doesnt exist, mkdir a folder with the new number.

Argh my knowledge of programming is still too small
