I took the nupoint 12 class and remember doing most of my configuration via the cli. now when I try to configure the line groups it tells me to do this from the web console. I found the area where to set this up but I cannot remember where to define the pbx information. Does anyone know where to put in this? When I try to add this info in the line triplets section the pbx box is blank.

Thanks,

Use the CLI and be done with it.

I couldn't figure the Web Method either.

Ok I figured it out.

So on the MAS 1.2 server. You add the pbx in from the Users and Services tab on the MAS server not from the nupoint console. Once you have populated this in the Network Elements tab of users and services, you will see it show up in the line group config.

I don't understand why the instructors teach so much CLI. I can configure an entire very complex NuPoint 12 or 3.0 system and only touch the CLI one time. If you use MAS, don't do this manually, use the "wizzard".

sterling, I disagree
certain things can still only be done from the CLI text console. apart from the MICW though, however this only works for new installations

for instance setting the language of the ling groups. setting fax groups, setting pager groups and assigning these to the line groups etc etc.

Also Stirling, some people, such as myself, have been proficient on the system since it was Centigram. For myself that goes back to 1988. The Web interface is a recent addition and much harder to use for someone that is familiar with the CLI.

New users can do as they please but as Slapin indicated, he knew the CLI.

Gents the current version MAS 2.0 with NPM 3.0 you dive in and out of CLI and Webconsole and end up guessing what is done where etc documentation is not relavent either.
Apparently its going to be done all via the web console.
MAS 2.1 is out now with NPM 4 17/12/2009 so more fun for the new year

afraid for those die hard old school guys, unless the web is easy to use, there will be some initial resistance to it
