I have 2 Norstars, I believe they tied together with an E&M trunk, but they will not dial the extensions in the other systems. I added a station module to KSU 2, and it has the same extensions as KSU 1, but if I dial 0 on KSU 2 it looks for extension 573, what am I missing?

what release of software and what type of trunk kinda hard to do anything without specifics

whatever it is when 2 systems are tied together ...it is better to have different series of extensions ...

say 2xxx
and 3xxx

if you dont have that way ...then you need an access code to call between the systems ..look for access codes for the EM lines you got in each system

I know it is better to have different extensions, I was just explaining the problems as is, but thanks! i have to go back on site tomorrow to find out what software it is.

so what happens when u dial the access code?
and then the #?

is it 'dead'?

for your question about why when you press 0 it rings to a certain extension is located in system programming under direct dial. for your system to work correctly you will need routing to be built between sites ( ex..200-249 site , 250-299 site 2.) for this to be done correctly you will need to start up the system with a different DN and from there do DN changes..

I myself think this is the appropriate time for a "luv2ski"-

answer- without exception.

Do you have target lines assigned to each extension with the received digits of that ext and assigned to ring only on the extension?

Site A:
2XX extensions
Dest code 5 ANY / absorb length: None
Points to Route 001 / Using pool with point to point channels
Each phone to be assigned a target line with their extension number as the received digits.
Build remote package 01 to have pool access to PTP pool set to yes.
Assign remote package 01 to the PTP channels
Dest code 9 / absorb length: 1
Points to Route 002 / Using pool with outgoing PSTN lines.

Site B
5XX extensions
Dest code 2 ANY / absorb length: None
Points to Route 001 / Using pool with point to point channels.
Each phone to be assigned a target line with their extension number as the received digits.
Build remote package 01 to have pool access to PTP pool set to yes.
Assign remote package 01 to the PTP channels
Dest code 9 ANY / absorb length: 1
Points to Route 002 / Using pool with outgoing PSTN lines.

If you have a different pool code for your E&M trunks and set up your target lines properly.
You can use the DISA DN feature.
You will dial the E&M access code
The remote switch will provide stutttered dial tone.
You will enter a COS password.
You will get return dial tone.
If remote packages are built correctly you can access remote pool code or dial remote DN's and page remotely if allowed in remote access package.
You will not have to do a **startup!

If 573 is ringing it is likely that this is the prime set for your E&M trunks and that you have not built and assigned your target lines correctly.
