I picked up 2 320gb external WD Netcenters. Have one sharing files among 60 users but was wondering if anyone could help me in setting up mirroring for the other? I've read everywhere that it can be setup as Raid 1 but not sure where to start. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would look hard for where you saw this.

These are very good units but as you know are accessed via ethernet. RAID 1 relies on writing to 2 drives simultaneously from the same bus. These 'netcenter' drives donot reside on a PC or a shared bus.

It appears that this can be accomplished with an attached USB drive with caveats noted by WD.

You should check with WD as to compatibility of a 'Netcenter' as a USB connected drive and thir combined 500GB limit.

You cannot RAID over ethernet, but might over USB

Curious as to what you found out, and a posting of this would assist others in the community with similar problems.

How did it turn out??

I'll definitely be finding out within the next few days. I haven't been able to find a usb male to male connector to test this out.
