Hey All,

Not sure if this is the correct forum but here i go:
in our company we have 4 shops and i'm making reports for all of them but a lot of the times i have to make 4 time's the same becouse every shop needs the same style reports (sales report / cross selling report / ...) just a diferent SQL db.

I tried to combine the diferent SQL's in 1 report but i can't link the tables then witch gives me error's
(if there is a quick fix for this would be heaven for me :p)

as a concequence i have A LOT of reports and it's comming so far that there are 2 many of them and i need to start to organize them a lot more.
I'm looking for a program that analyses all my reports and gives me back a list of
names
formula's
sql db's used (table's and even fields if possible)
...

Any good program that i could give a try ? free ones prefered i'm afraid :(

Tnx for the responce's already !!

Greetings

Adam

If your problem is linking tables, do a SEARCH for the UNION command. Or ask in the SQL forum.

Hi MAdawc,

I will do some googling on that union command and see what comes out.

But for this topic i was more looking for a program that analyses all my reports and gives me back 1 report with all the info from all my reports (dbo's used / formula's / group / record formula's / ...)
Is there a program that mines the reports and gives me back all the info ?

You can export each report to Report Definition. I think there also are programs you can purchase to do this, e.g.,"Report Miner". I don't know anything specific about this product though.

Note: there are viewers that allow you to design the report once and run it against any ODBC data source that has the same data structure. The user gets the option to select the desired ODBC DSN.

view, email, export, burst, distribute, and schedule Crystal Reports.

It's fairly easy to write a program to do what you need (I have one, but it's not up to date).
Difficulty is getting a list of the fields used in the report. Even though the calls are in the SDK, they've not worked since (IIRC) version 6. They just return all fields in the database as being in use.

what version are you using?

Hey Andrew,

I'm using XI release 2 at the moment.
I looked arround on the net and most of the program's are like 500+$ wich is a bit much i think.
And that easy to make a program might not be so easy for me hehe.
