Hi guys wondering if you can help me with this. I have 2 sites connected via vpn. Calls over the vpn are ok, but they have suffered from quite a few voip errors, so want to just send all calls over BT, but still use the SCN features.
I have set shortcodes up so a dialled extn matches the DDI at the other sites. With the IP line removed this works great, but they lose the ability of being able to see if other extensions are in use. I reconnected the IP lines, and have tried using user shortcodes to send calls over BT but they always default to the voip lines.

Anyone know a workaround for this?

In a word, no.

The design of SCN means the systems automatically know the extns at the other site(s) so need no programming. This knowledge is used before the system even thinks about short codes.

Want SCN features, then that is how it works.

You could have users actually dial the DDI or program a different short code for the DDI's.

Or get you WAN sorted!!!! How many calls are going over it and what kind of bandwith have you got. use a different CODEC or limit how many calls you send over the link.

Fooball is not a matter of life and death-It is far more important!!!!

I have never tried this so it am not sure it will work. Maybe set the chanels on your IP line to 0. Then use either ARS or LCR to get your calls out over the PSTN. Maybe even just short codes to send them out. Put them out on the regular PSTN group.

Good call Kwing. Might work.

Didn't work for me on 4.0.7.
It does work if you have one VCM channel at each end and set up a call and keep the call open.
Not really a good scenario but if the customer really want it that way....

Righto guys thanks for the help. Was a tricky one to fix as the custard wanted it in this exact configuration.
In the end I got round it by setting up the voip lines with 0 outgoing voice channels, but everything else in the voip tab as normal.
I then set up a new LCR group called voip. In the main tab I set all the shortcodes for the extn at remote sites, with a time out of 1 second, and to use the voice channels.
In the fallback I then set all the same extensions but with the DDI number for the remote site. User can check the status of the users over the SCN perfectly, double click the user to setup the call, has a 1 second delay then it gets connected.
It was the config of the voip line which needed the tweaking. I tried all the above suggestions, but zeroing out all the data channels stopped everything working over the SCN. Just setting 0 on outgoing trunks did it in the end.

Hope this is of help to someone :)
