Hello, Just wondering if it is possible to have two IP phones that use the same extension.

I'm using a Nortel BCM 400, one phone is a Nortel IP2002 and the other is a wireless IP phone.

I want both phones to ring with the same number, right not they have the same number and using 2 DID's

Ok, They both share the same line and when i dial the full number like someone would do externally the both ring.

They won't both ring if i dial the extension internally.

What am i missing?

you need to put both phones in a hunt group and assign the target line to the hunt group then the hunt group number will ring both IP phones as well as the DID

So, both phones will use the same target line and then i place them in a hunt group?

I know this sounds stupid, but i'm just starting to learn about telephony.
What's the purpose of a huntgroup?

Bit confused, could someone give me a brief step by step on how to do this?
Would really appreciate any help in this learning process.

The easiest thing to do is put an answer DN on the phone you assign the line to.
