Thanks for advance for any comments or help.

I have an MICS R1T1 with the equipment above. Do I need an additional SAP for the 2nd 7324 and CAP or will the one that I already have be enough?

No, I have hooked up 5 Caps 0n one 24V powre supply.

The book says 1 SAP to two CAPS. Some people use more than two CAPS but I would stick to what is recommended.

Thanks for your replies guys.

Does the SAP provide the extra power for any jack located within the system or just the 'main' receptionist jack? I plan to put the 2nd 7324 and SAP in another part of the office.

You have to provide the power, so if you move the phone and cap to another location you must wire the jack to power.

So a SAP is required per 7324 and CAP combination. Again, my intention was to keep the first 7324 and CAP at it's current location and have a second combination at another place. I recalled when I had my installer come in to do the wiring, he had to pull out the jack at the receptionist's area when he installed the SAP and CAP.

It is not a requirement per CAP. It is only required that it be wired correctly to the power supply. If you call your tech back he should be able to make both your KLM’s run off the same existing power supply.

When the installer came out to hook up the 1st CAP it was probably because of only one pair being used on the jack. He needed the 2nd pair hooked up for the -24VDC. If your putting in a 2nd CAP (anywhere) the jack will have to be rewired to use the 2nd pair.
