What happens in relation to the internet if:

- you advertise a route that does not belong to your ASN?
- 2 ASNs advertise the same route?

I hope someone here knows. Much time spent searching and reading, and there is nothing that says.

If you advertise another AS route. And it is preferred over real route all the traffic will be routered to you. the party who owns the real network would most likley counter that by adjusting their metric to beating yours. and then Find you and possibley prosecute you. check your ISP agreement for advertising routes.

BGP WiLL select one and only one route to a destination. the prefered route will be used folowing the 14 step descion process till an advantage is found.
