I finally switched over to Adobe CS from PS 5 and PhotoShop 8 is part of it. I do mostly print work. I use a Mac OSX Panther. (I am taking an online course on the new Adobe products but need some quick basic answers to two recurring problems.)
1. I cannot just click anymore on a photo file and have it open in PS. Even when I go into the finder file menu for "open with" and choose PS8. How do I fix this?
2. Last night I had a full page ad in Quark and imported 2 .eps images with clipping paths. None appeared in the .pdf for review by the client. After making several different changes (ascii/binary and color palette id) with no solution. I finally opened PS 5, resaved and voila! They were there.
I've had several similar incidents involving .eps images with illustrator and acrobat also. Is there a specific rule about preparing or saving .eps images in a special way?
What's going on here? I'm getting too old to keep up with all the bells and whistles.
