I recently patched from OEL 2.6.32-696.3.1.el6.x86_64 to 2.6.32-696.3.2.el6.x86_64 and it broke my application on my server. I had to boot off the old kernel to get my application functioning again. I found the following links online about it, has anyone else run into a problem with this release?

Error documented with CVE-2017-1000364

These are CVE. Vulnerabilities are security risks and should not "break" applications. Maybe your app was built in such a way that it specifically relies on a particular version of the kernel, which is highly unlikely. Another possibility is that the patching went wrong.

Here's the error messages I received from it...

As a matter of opinion, this looks like defective glibc libs that cause java exceptions, especially if you can reproduce it with this specific update. I'd just not use it. Wait for the next one maybe?

It was definately a kernel bug. Oracle released a new kernel and it's resolved now. Thanks!
