HI Guys

I need to swap out 406v1 for a customer but need the unit to be on 2.1(27).

Does anyone have anywhere I can get the software from?

Thanks

Pete

is there a voicemail PC on site with the admin software on it? then it should be no problem you can just run the upgrade wizard and you are fine doing it on site.
I have the software but can't post it for download and e-mail is a bit big.

Indeed, there is no real reson for staying on 2.1(27) when you doing a disruptive changeout anyway, it's a good opportunity to head off issues before they may arise and upgrade to the highest supported release for the kit :)

You would probably have to swap daughter boards and buy some extra stuff to switch to an IP500 not to mention the feature key swap so I can see how you might want to avoid that. But there can't be that much of a price difference between the 406 and the 406v2 which can take you to release 5. Do it for the System Status Application to make your own life easier.

But if you insist... I was stuck someplace once and needed to download some 2.1 firmware after Avaya took it off the site. I searched for a while and had no luck but then tried the file name of the download and found some FTP server that had it. Unfortunately I do not recall the naming convention Avaya used back in 2.1. I think either the VM Pro or Manager was packaged as a zip file instead of a self-extracting exe back then.

tlpeter probably has it but his site is passworded now. although i would agree with the others, upgrade to 3.0 or something if you can. can't hurt.

Okay heres the scenario.

The site is on a 406v1 with 3 x DT30s and a phone 30.

We are replacing the 406v1 with another (complete retype as site are moving offices) and only keeping 2 DT30s and a phone 8.

The system on site is 2.1(27) and the customer is happy with the stability of this build on their setup and would like to keep it.

The replacement 406 I have is on 2.1(78) as is the Phone 8. As I am building the kit in my office I was going to downgrade them to 2.1(27) to save me having to upgrade kit when on site.

I was under the impression there was an upgrade step I needed to take before I could go from 2.1(27) to 2.1(78), and it appears my bin files dont have this upgrade bin file in them, hence I thought it would be easier to just downgrade this piece of kit (but my storage of almost all bin files from all releases is currenty not available, so I am only left with a small selection, hence asking for the .27 files) instead.

If I dont need to do any other steps between 27 and 78 then I will just upgrade the other units as well.

Forgive my ignorance on this software level I only starting using the IP office on 4.1

Thanks

Pete

the final firmware release for DT systems was V3.0.580

It is in reality just a rebadged V2.1 release, and is still available form avaya in the V2.1 download section as V3.0DT maintanence release.

Everything needed should be in this download there is no need for a 2 stage upgrade on an IP406 system

Hi Guys, sorry I didnt come back on about this - but I ended up not doing it anyway as I came down ill the day before the job was scheduled.

I believe the engineer who covered me just updated the other units to 2.1(77).

I have a collection of BIN files going back to 1.3 !! Contact me if you want any files.
