I just upgraded from 2.0 to 6.0 so I could use the 1230 IP sets. I can't get the sets to register. It dies and says can't find tftp. I have selected all manual, and all automatic, as well as a combination of both. Any one with a similar issue? I have other IP sets working just fine that were upgrade with the BCM. The 3 new sets are the ones with issues.

Thanks

I would suggest setting everything to manual, then going back and configuring parameters as needed.
Make sure S1 and S2 are the BCM IP address and you're using port 7000.

Set the address for the tftp server in the set to 0.0.0.0 and make sure the S1 aqnd S2 addresses are the BCMs LAN address. Once the set connects it will load firmware if needed from the BCM.

I did all this and still no luck. I took the phone to another office that has BCM450 R1, and they register perfectly. Is 6.0 having issues? I have DHCP set for IP Phones only, yet none show up in my leases? Seams like I may have a odd issue.

I got it working! THanks to all. What worked was connecting it to the BCM 450 at another office running GR1. The firmware loaded using all aut automatic, and I got the set registration login. I then took the phones back to the BCM50 6.0 and it worked. I think the AVAYA 1230E sets must have an odd firmware and the older bcm had no issues, but the new one would not work no matter what I tried.
