181 GB Drives for Dell Power Edge 4400

We have a Dell Power Edge 4400 with a PERC 2/SC controller and want to install the new Seagate 181 GB drives. Dell doesn't support them yet. Anybody know if this can be done or not done?

ask your disk supplier....if they don't know, ask for one to try.....

best of luck...i guess you can backup that much data ?

Yes 18 gig drives will work fine on a Perc 2/SC, just make sure your Raid controllers firmware is at the latest 3.13.

Not 18 gig drives, 181 gig drives. The disk vendor has assured us it will work so we have purchased the drives and hope to have them implemented in the next couple of weeks. Will post the results.
