Hi,

Our Exchange server (Microsoft Windows NT Server 4.0 Service Pack 5) has McAfee Groupshield installed on it. It is constantly calling the address 169.254.69.113 on different ports, for example:

Protocol Source port
udp 4605
udp 4609
udp 4614
udp 4617
udp 4624
udp 4627
...

What is going wrong here? Can someone help me out?

It is likely that your Exchange server has multiple network cards, and one of the cards IS NOT connected to the network.

The 169.254.x.y addresses are automatically assigned by the OS if it does not have a static address provided or if there is not a DHCP server it can contact.

Disable any unused network cards on the server, reboot and that should resolve the issue.
