I just installed a IP 500 but for some reason some of the buttons are not working on my 1616 ip phones.
1. Dial intercom does not give me extension or directory option. So I can not idial
2. voice mail button button intergration not working. I have to dial *17 or program voicemail collect button. I have also read Lan admin guide and modified the 46xxsetting.txt file.
3. twinning butting not working as a toggle. it only disables twinning but cannot enable it.

I don't think I am upgrading them properly. I have 3 vpn phones (5610's) I can see when the files are loading on the 5610's after booting up. But when the 1616 phones boot they say bad file server. Do I need to use a different file server other than Manager?

Then i think you did not upgrade the phone's
I have had these options working on a 1608 and 1616

ACA - Implement IP Office
ACS - Implement IP Office
ACA - Implement IP Telephony
ACA - Voice Services Management

to do this you need the tftp server address in the config set to the machine running manager, http server needs to be the address of the ip office lan 1 in the config AND when you program the phones.

then you will see them upgrade.

unless you are using a seperate http server?

Tom, i think it needs to be the HTTP ip address :)

yeah thats right. but if you are using the ipo as the http server then the tftp address needs to be set to the manager machine, the http server address needs to be the lan1 address, and when programming the phones set the file server as the lan1 address?

which is what i wrote above i think?

Coffe is on it's way right now

You are right but i would not do it this way

· HTTP Server IP Address: Default = 0.0.0.0 (Disabled), Software Level = 4.2+.
If an address is entered here, Avaya IP phones using IP Office DHCP will use that address to request software and settings files. The files for download should be placed in the HTTP server's root directory.

· For IP Office 4.2, using the Embedded Voicemail memory card is also supported for HTTP file requests for up to 50 IP phones. This is done by setting the TFTP Server IP Address and HTTP Server IP Address to match the control unit IP address. This is supported for up to 50 IP phones.

· For the IP Office 4.2 Q4 2008 maintenance release, HTTP-TFTP Relay is support using IP Office Manager as the TFTP server. This is done by setting the TFTP Server IP Address to the address of the Manager PC and the HTTP Server IP Address to the control unit IP address. This method is supported for up to 5 IP phones.

i see.

so using an embedded card actually allows more phones to upgrade at once? i take it the manager app is the bottleneck then?

well ive learnt something today, i can go home now and its only 9am woohoo!

Hey guys this is how I have my ip settings

HTTP IP= voicemail svr ip address
TFTP IP= voicemail svr ip address
FileWriter IP= voicemail svr ip address

Now remember I have 3 5610 VPN phones that upgraded and loaded the vpn client with these settings. Using Manager as file server.
Is this different for 1616 phones

yep different for 16 series, they use http not tftp.

to get them upgraded quickly,

change http ip address to be ip office lan 1 ip address, and enter the ipo lan 1 address as the file server when setting up the phones

Thank Tom, I am not on site right now but I will try this tonight.

Hey everyone I just wanted to say thank you to all who helped. I was successful in upgrading the phones, which then resolved all my button integration issues.
