Thanks in advance,

Thanks for the reply Kwing.
No i did not. But shouldn' t the information be presented on the display without having to press a button?

HAHAHAHAHA!!!! Ohh poor Avayell and well poor any of us forced to use these sets. The 1400/1600 is like a manual transmission car...It doesn't do ANYTHING automtically.

If your on line 1 and want to see line 2 or 3 information while rining you must scroll down.

But shouldn' t the information be presented on the display without having to press a button?"

-Shouldn't it scan the number and determine if you want to take the call and answer it automatically
-Shouldn't it send the call to voicemail as it's only the wife and she can wait.
-Shouldn't it send you an email letting you know who's calling

Yes, it probably SHOULD do a lot of things, but in this world of ours we have to take some responsibility for what happens and get off our backsides and actually do it.

So in conclusion, just scroll down one ;-)

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Try this...press the feature button in the display, scroll to phone user and press select, scroll to phone screen settings and press select, scroll to show call waiting, and press change or press the left or right arrow button to turn the feature on. When done, simply press Done.

@bdelmar - that will do the job. I also disable the Abbreviated Ring on the Telephony tab.

When we install 1400 series phones, I ask they guys to do this sequence once the phone comes up:

· FEATURES
· Up Arrow 3 Times
· SELECT (Call Settings)
· Up Arrow 3 Times
· ON (Show Waiting Call)
· BACK
· Up Arrow
· SELECT (Phone User)
· Up Arrow
· SELECT (Phone Screen Settings)
· Up Arrow
· CHANGE (Display Name ON)
· DONE

· “A” Menu
· Up Arrow
· SELECT (Call Settings)
· ON/OFF (Visual Alerting On)
· DONE
· EXIT

This makes the extension name show full time, a 2nd call show on the screen, and the MW light flash when it rings.

Thank you all for replying.
Today a colleague of mine will be on site to give it a shot.
I ll let you know.

I did what you suggested. When a second call comes in it is displayed as external but the number is not shown. We have to use the scroll down to see the number calling.

Also (just a heads up), if you do the 'sequence' of steps that TouchToneTommy provided you once the phone(s) comes up, those settings will only stay set for as long as the phone stays 'on'. So, for instance, if the phone gets unplugged or the system reboots after you make those changes, those settings will go back to default and you'll have to set them again. This could get tiring depending on how often the phone(s) get 'unplugged or rebooted'. Kind of cheesey if you ask me.

Just a thought....

· Answer Pre-Select: (IP Office 4.0+)
Normally when a user has multiple alerting calls, only the details of the call on current selected button are shown. Pressing any of the alerting buttons will answer the call on that button, going off-hook will answer the current selected button. Enabling the user telephony setting Answer Pre-Select allows the user to press any alerting button to make it the current selected button and displaying its call details without answering that call. To answer a call when the user has Answer Pre-Select enabled, the user must press the alerting button to display the call details and then either press the button again or go off-hook.
