Suddenly normally working 1608-i started to show this at boot:

What should I do?

You can reset and clear all values from the phone, then update the phone to the latest 16xx software release

ok, back to the topic.
Press * to "program", dont change anything, just press # until the display shows "enter command"
On that screen you can enter the craft procedures like mute+craftclear+#
now with the phone cleared, just program the phone, plus this is a good moment to update the phone
use a http file server like HFS. On HFS select Expert mode, point the folder containing your phone firmware (bind root to real folder)
on the phone the address of file server is the PC where the HFS is installed. reboot the phone and will begin to update.

Hi! Problem solved.

These these phones were configured with static IPs.
The day problem appeared, new devices with the same (conflicting) IP addresses appeared in the network.

So, reset and return to DHCP method worked.
Changing static IPs also worked.

Strange that no clear message appeared on the screen.
firmware 1.3.6. Maybe later fw would show more understandable message.

It used to say "IP Conflict", maybe that's only when the phone is on DHCP and it find a unit with the same static IP.
