Please HELP URGENT!!!
I am about to cut over a customer with a call centre. For ease of administration I created all the handsets with a base number in the 1000 range, i.e. 1000, 1001, 1002 etc.
My agents logon with a 21XX number. Everytime they move to a different workstation and logon, the handset reboots, and then atuo logs that agent on.

Any ideas to stop the rebooting?

IPO 500 V2 6.0 (14) software
1608 handsets on 3000 software.

Manual backup off handsets also fails.

Thanks in advance

Make sure they are logging off from the Features menu not the phone menu :)

You MUST have users extns MATCH base extns with 16xx handsets.

so - what I do is create (in your example) your base extns and a range of hot desk users (that done get used) and call them Base1000, Base1001, etc.

put a call bar on it, and delete all CA keys and have a logon button.

this is actually documented when creating IP handsets.

7. In the User tab set the following:
• Name
Enter a name for the extension user. The name must be unique. If voicemail is in use, this name will be used as the basis for a new mailbox with matching name.
• Extension
This must match the extension number set in the VoIP extension created above.

Hi there, thanks for the response. I have created users for the base extension numbers, with only a login button. Yet the handsets still reboot on login. To make matters worse I also at random times get the displays on the handsets scrolling to text on the top line.

ok - how are these connected to the IPO? (Switch make / model)

try a firmware upgrade on it.

run up monitor and see what happens to the extn when it reboots. should be fairly obvious in the trace what happens.

when you say 3000 firmware? My 1608 is using ha / hb1608ua1_2200.bin - running on r6(14)

Thanks for all the feedback, I have 2 x HP 2610 switches, and the handsets are on hb1608ua1_3000.bin software.

I will attempt a rollback to the handsets to hb1608ua1_2200.bin software and see if that resolves the issue, if not then roll the system back to 6.0(8)

Could someone pleeeeeeeease issue me a CQ # for this LOL

Only issues they don't mind admitting publicly get a CQ number, Id say about 25% of them don't :)

No CQ, it's not been escalated. It happens regularly our our test kit but these days we generally don't bother raising that sort of stuff.
