Hi All,

Thanks in advance, hoping just a sanity check.
I have a IPO500V2 on 7.0.12 software with Phone8/BRI8 and VCM 32
24 IP Extensions 1608 all on correct firmware level and licenced.
Handsets statically assigned and no conflicts. POE via HP Pro-curve

Customer reported that every morning different handsets would have discover in the display. unplugged the handset and plugged back in it would come back up. Via monitor I could see that these extensions were not registered. If I look back over the monitor file I can see that the handsets drop of at 21:50 and 06:50. Customer vague over network activity at these times possible back ups occurring in the evening and morning, but would this cause handsets to unregister?

We installed a netgear swicth and put the IPO into this with 4 handsets (that had had the issue) removed the VLAN ID and patched back into the Procurve. Effectively removing these 4 handsets from the Procurve. The handsets on this "test rig" have not had the issue since we made this change.

I believe this is a network issue, but just want a sanity check as I noticed in the latest 7 release there is a fix for sites with over 200 IP extensions that would unregister handsets.

Anyone had a similar issue?

network issue I agree
the phones and the system communicate to keep alive the connection and if one of these packets (IPO - Phone or Phone - IPO) goes astray the phones go into discover and they also do not come back by themselves (last time I had the issue) they needed a reboot to get back.
wireshark traces will tell you when they send it and what they send and receive and it is a lot of work to go through them. I had a world class network engineer do all that work for me as it was way over my head with all the data coming along in the traces and he found and pinpointed the issue. My issue was with phones in a different location doing that and the VLAN's were not provisioned correctly not a single site)
could be that the network is just so busy that they drop the packages but it is more likely that the network is setup wrong as voice should be prioritized and go through for sure. A network asessment will tell what is going on.
