Good morning

the last system we have sold gave me hope that I would install this 16XX series phone but the customer decided to buy the former generation 56XX phones even they are more expensive.

the question is that I have read in the catalog that 1603 features only one single Ethernet Port.

But our wholesales agente insists they have double port...

I will believe in your experience...

docs say single. he can argue it out with avaya and the writers of the knowledgebase

go with what the doc says or have the wholesales agent send a picture to prove the point.

If you mean a swichport then there is a 1603sw now !

Version 5 introduces support for a switchport on a 1603. However, I haven't yet seen a 1603 with a switchport...

Take Care

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

You can get a 1603SW but they only work on 5+ :)

will the difference be in the exact model reference?

1603 / 1603 SW

FINE reading the brochure...
Single Ethernet (10/100) line interface
Secondary Ethernet (10/100) line interface on the 1603SW

it would explain it all if you saw a 1603 with single port you saw right
it you saw a 1603 with double port you saw right too...

just double or triple check when placing your order you have put the 1603 SW !

FYI The 1603SW has reduced throughput on the Ethernet Interface for Data.

See below wording from PD, also AVAYA warned me of the reduced performance on the 1603SW second ethernet port.

Ethernet Ports: 1603 SW Ethernet (10/100) line interface with a secondary 10/100 port for co-located laptop or PC with VLAN separation. Support of optional Gigabit Ethernet Adapter.

• Well suited for everyday use, where typically smaller sized data files transferred (web, email file attachments) or less demanding data-transfer application/usage (thus less sensitive to data transfer completion times).

• For highly demanding data traffic processing with large amounts of small packets we recommend the 1616 phone for full speed data throughput.
