Hello all,

I have been scowering the Knowledgebase for a step by step how to on the setup of using the phone manager as an HTTP server to update the software on the 1600 series phones.

Can anyone help with the how or maybe even the where to find a step by step o doing this.

Thanks a bunch

· For the IP Office 4.2 Q4 2008 maintenance release, HTTP-TFTP Relay is support using IP Office Manager as the TFTP server. This is done by setting the TFTP Server IP Address to the address of the Manager PC and the HTTP Server IP Address to the control unit IP address. This method is supported for up to 5 IP phones total.

That's all the instructions you need, there isn't anything more to it except ensuring your on the same subnet and have firewalls turned off, that's why no step by step guide exists :)

Riddle
So then the file server address on the phone is set to the IP Office and the IPO will relay it to the PC running phone manager?

Thanks Riddle.

i work for an interconnect, so that is why i selected vendor. i suppose i could have put technical user.

Yes, that's correct, Don't forget Manager needs to be left running/minimized. Manager can be touchy so you may need to close and reopen it to get it to work :)

OK just asking..:)

Put all the needed files on a CF card and put that on the IPO then set thru the Manager the TFTP/HTTP ip address to the ip of the IPO. That's the easiest way to do it.

Or use MV_IPTel as a HTTP/TFTP server this also runs as a service.

no harm

:)

thanks guys. I will test these agin this afternoon and let you know

copy the bin files with the CF Manager in Manager

File / Advanced / Embedded file Management /

there is a one click copy phone files to card.

otherwise your HTTP server (IPOffice in this case) wont recognise the files if you manually upload the files.
