Anyone seen this, handsets get to 77kb then say corrupt firmware and stop, using Manager form different pc's and SD card as file server...:-(

BTW, this turned out to be that the first of two Combi cards would not upgrade handsets but the second combi card would, so I had to upgrade in batches using one card (reboot after the first 6 upgrades) :)

What happens is you swap the positions of those cards?

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

if this has been proven to your combi card I would have it swapped as an out of box failure before it comes back and bites your bum!

I had an issue last week with the combo cards on a new install where they just sat there red. Called it in and they told me that their PCS level was higher than the Control units. I brought everything up to 7.0.23 and the cards we fine. 7.0.5 caused it to just hang.

Please, i have a similar Situation,I have some 1416 digital phones and an ip office 500 v2 running on software release 7.0.12 the phones keeps displaying 'waiting for FW upgrade' .Can someone explain to me the procedure to upgrade the phones?.

@olumide007 what file are the 1416's looking for when you run Monitor?

I've had luck upgrading the switch then manually putting the proper phone bins on the SD card using the embedded file management, also luck using newer newer phone bins put directly on the SD using emb-file management.

Sorry,I am new to the ip office telephony system. What do you mean by phone bins?.Do i have to go to avaya support to download this bins for 1416 phones or the firmware is already in the IPO R7.012 firmware?.secondly i need the procedure to put the bins in the SD card.I will really appreciate your assistance.

the bins are the phones software. open up Monitor and check to see what the tftp request from the extensions are.

What is your tftp type set to in Manager?

Then either download a new copy of the Admin Release and manually put the bin file on the sd card using embedded file manager in manager or

Thanks for the info.I have realized my mistake.I noticed that the tftp ip address is still left as default 0.0.0.0.This ought to piont to the my manager pc ip address.I will do the needful and get back to you.
