Has any one experienced time and date issue on 1408. Tired changing the time setting tab to None still the handset does not display the current date and time. Also there is not option in handset to set it manually. Not sure if this is the common issue with 1408 as this is the first time i am using it. Any tips or help would be much appreciated.

This usually happens when they are connected to a system running on a software level on which they are not supported :)

if you set the time source to none for the system then you need to use one of the phones with system phone rights to set the date time to what you want it to be.

Indeed, but it will still display a time and date on the handsets even it it's totally wrong. Setting it to None even at initial install will not cause a blank screen/lack of time and date on those handsets :)

What release are you running them on? They should show the time/date by default. If you have a free button, you could put a "time of day" button on it and try to see if that works.

Stop, the problem is not that the time/date is not being displayed - its changing the time/date when the system time source is set to none.

Answer: You need to set one of the users with an Avaya phone (one of the large display 1400/1600/9500/96000 Series phones) to be a system phone user. In Manager, set the user's System Phone Rights setting to Level 1. The phones menus will then have options for setting the time and date.

Look at the "System Time and Date" page in the IP Office Manager help. Look in the relevant IP Office Phone User Guide.

Oh, poorly worded question. I thought the date/time wasn't even showing.

Same here, he doesn't seem to care anyway, he hasn't responded :)

Got it sorted with NTP server. @ Telecomboy : didn't pay much attention to the words but it was current Time n date. It wasn't that tough though to comprehend it.

Thanks guys for the tips.
