1200 Series Deskphone 3.2 SIP Firmware

Hi,

I've managed to install the lastest 3.2 SIP firmware onto a Nortel 1230 and I'm now trying to logon to the domain.

The domain I'm trying to log on to is a Mitel 3300. Later on I'm going to try contecting to a Asterisk server. My problem at the moment seems to be with SIP token licenses which relate to the Avaya Firmware. After entering an ID and Password I get a message saying "logging in user". Eventually I receive an error message saying "could not obtain license. Login has been denied".

According to the article below I can use the 1200 series as a standard SIP phone without a token license.


My question is how do I configure the phone to not use any licensing? I can't find any documentation on this at all.

I've managed to contect x-lite to the mitel domain so it is not a configuration or license issue with the mitel.

If you are connecting the nortel phone to certain nortel systems, a token is not needed. I am running into a similar issue in that the I can use the eval SIP token that comes with the phone, but I can't keep a call active for more than 2 mins bc it is going through the login process to check that the time has expired (30 days). Also having trouble purchasing a few tokens.
 
From what I understand from an Avaya Tech. you can only use the 3.2 Firmware with a license from Avaya.

I have been running an 1140E and a Cisco 7960 on
2.2 Firmware.

I am now going to be trying an Avaya 9630 with SIP firmware I obtained from ebay.....

I'll let you guys know the results.
