I somehow formatted my new IBM hard drive to 33 gb and can't find a way to restore it back to the origanal state, Is there a utility or some way to repair. Thanks very much for any help.

Partition Magic.

Or, start completely over with a new OS load and (at least under the Win2k Professional installation) you are given the option to create/remove partitions.

trader18,

Bit more information would be useful (like operating system, how you partitioned it, what filestore, machine spec/age). Eg, 2k & XP have maximum 32GB (very close to your 33GB) size for FAT32 partitions. Some motherboards/bioses have 32GB max disk size they can see (so if they can see larger disks, they appear as 32GB).

Have you checked (either with fdisk - win9x/ME or disk management - 2k/XP) there is unused space? If you want one large partition & mobo/bios supports it, you'll either need to start from scratch (backup, delete existing partition, create new one) or use something like partition magic to extend size of your existing partition.

Thanks for all your help, the problem was in the hard drive jumpers, working fine now.

Thanks
