Hi Folks sorry for cross posting
In a nutshell does the SQL installed by 11d prevent you running non-MS SQL on your Server?
Issue below:-
I'm having a mare (1st Mare being a complete N00b when it comes to SQL)
I have a clean build W2K server which only has Backup Exec 11d installed on it.
(Backup Exec now installs a SQL Component, SQL Server 2005 Express)
The server has been DCPromo'd and then I have tried to install SQL Anywhere 7 on it.
The SQL will be using Hardcat to populate the DB
A few problems have now arisen
ODBC
The sample databases in the USER DSN work fine, however the won't work in the System DSN
JDBC Consoles
The Java based consoles i.e. Sybase Central don't work so I am unable to create a DB or do didly with it
The site it's at doesn't have any Comms i.e. WAN/Internet as we are still waiting for these to be installed so I need to take any patches and bug fixes with me to site.
I've read of issues around SQL Anywhere and SQL 2000 on these forums, is it still the case with MSSQL Express 2005?
Any Ideas hints or tips would be greatly appreciated
Thanks in advance
TC
