11d - notification not working but test does

I have my email setup under Person Recipient Policies, SMTP. I click on "test" and I receive the email.

go down to Notification and under Recipient type Person you see my name, click on test, receive the test.

Enable is checked on both.

yet whether the backup passes or fails I do not receive a notification.

is there another place where I have to check something?
I cannot see what I am missing right now.
 
getting the same issue here.

I have 2 recipients that receive the alert.

1 is to a DL group ( which I get the email ok )
the other is to an individual user ( which does not get the email but does get the test message )

I noticed that in the Backup Exec directory there is a SMTP.txt log file ( the name of the recipient is at the beginning of the file name ). In the lg file i get the following message:

Time Logged: Thu May 31 20:01:00 2007
Reason Logged: Circuit Breaker Tripped

What does the Circuit Breaker Tripped mean? I just don't see how this would even relate to any electrical power problem?!?

Any help will be greatly appreciated
